Postdoctoral Research Positions
Moridi lab is looking for high profile candidates to nominate for postdoctoral fellowship at Cornell in one of the following areas:
1. Nano scale imaging + Additive manufacturing
The candidate should have a strong track record in nanoscale science. The proposal should be one page and have a major component developing or utilizing next generation tools for imaging/control at the nanoscale to address challenges in metal additive manufacturing. Please visit the tools that are available at Cornell here: https://www.ccmr.cornell.edu/category/user-instruments/electron-and-optical-microscopy/
2. Synchrotron + Metallurgy
The candidate should have a strong track record in doing synchrotron experiments especially on metallic materials. The proposal should be one page and describe how synchrotron experiments can be used to gain a deeper understanding of additively manufactured metallic materials. Please refere to beamline capabilities at CHESS here https://www.chess.cornell.edu/users/beamlines
PhD award date: 9/1/2021 or later
3. Additive Manufacturing
The candidate should have a strong track record in materials science, metallurgy and additive manufacturing. The proposal should be one page and describe a research to address one of the major challenges in metal additive manufacturing or propose design of new alloys for metal additive manufacturing.
PhD award date: 9/1/2021 or later
Application:
Please submit a one page proposal and your CV to moridi@cornell.edu
Include “Postdoc Application-Category 1” or (category 2 or 3) in the subject of the email. Include the link to your google scholar webpage and the award date of your PhD in the body of the email.
